History :

Southern Bilad Al-Sham, geographically Jordan has always been a critical land bridge between Africa, Asia and Europe. Its neighbors, the great civilizations of the ancient world, have sought throughout time the control of this territory. Due to its strategic location and mild climate, Jordan has been constantly settled throughout every single period of history since 9500 BC –  Pharaonic Egypt, Babylonians, Hittites, Persians,Macedonian Greeks, Roman and Islam. The multitude of civilizations in Jordan left distinct marks behind, turning it into an open museum, evidence for the rich heritage thatJordan enjoys today, such as Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

For Muslims, Jordan is part of the blessed Bilad Al-Sham area. A multitude of prophets have lived, died and buried and other have passed through its lands. So we will find the mausoleum for Prophets (as) Noah, Hud, Lot, Shoaib, Moses,Aaron, Solomon, Joshua, Job, Yayha, Isa, Al Khidr, the people of Thamud and many others from our Qasas al-anbiya (Stories of The Prophets). The ‘Tree’ under which the Prophet Muhammad (saws) took shelter, when he was young boy accompanied his uncle Abu Talib (ra), on a commercial excursion with a Quraishi caravan, in the middle of middle of the Jordanian desert, Al Bakoueya’ or ‘Al Safawy’. Many of the great battles of the Companions of our Prophet Muhammad (saws) took place here and as well as many great Muslims throughout the ages.

Jerusalem & Masjid al-Aqsa need no introduction as their importance and significance is well established in the Islamic Tradition. We will visit the Holy Land during the dates of the Isra and Mi’raj celebrations (Night Journey of the Prophet saw to the Heavens) and perform Jummah, as well as significant places of interest.
Accompanying scholars: We are please to announce that one of the Imams of Masjid Al Aqsa will deliver a short reminder of the significance of the Isra and Mi’raj, to our group.
