Modern day Iran, which was historically known as Persia, is home to one of the world’s oldest civilisations. Steeped in history, culture, technological advancement and beautiful landscapes, its strategic location at the nexus between the Middle East and Central Asia is one of the key reasons why empires and illustrious personalities have vied for supremacy in the region. Iran’s complex and often tragic history are part of the intrigue and charm of this nation of around 85 million people.
Our journey begins in the vibrant and often chaotic capital Tehran, home to the impressive Golestan Complex and National Jewellery Museum. Later we proceed to Kashan which is famed for its traditional houses and quaint villages. Moving deeper into the country’s interior we spend a night in the desert with a wonderful opportunity to view the constellations. From there we head towards Isfahan, arguably the crowning jewel of Persia with its richly decorated mosques and palaces, as well as historical bridges and markets. Our trip continues further south to the romantic city of Shiraz, renown for for its poets, literature and exquisite gardens. The tour is concluded with a visit to the ruins of Persepolis and Pasargadae, two of the most important cities of ancient Persia.
During our journey we learn about the different influences on Iran throughout the ages, from the time of the early Achaemenid Empire, through the golden eras of Islamic civilisation to the role that Iran plays on the global political stage today. The impacts of Shi’a, Sunni, Zoroastrian and Armenian Christian philosophies are visible in the diverse patchwork of ideas, people and heritage that characterise Iran’s past and present.
Aside from stunning architecture, captivating history and mouthwatering cuisine, the warmth and hospitality of the peoples of Iran are something that always leave a lasting impression on those who are fortunate to be able to traverse this ancient land. Join us on an incredible adventure to rediscover the jewels of Persia!

“Everything was organised, decent hotels, like minded individuals in the tour group.” (Alinoor, London, October 2023)
“Out tour guide, Hussein, made it very enjoyable and provided lots of information about everything we visited.” (Sharif, London, October 2023)
“The tour was well planned and organised with site excursions and visits. I liked the contrast of different locations, people, culture, food and how the locals lived. It was magical because some parts were the ruins, some locals, some expensive glass buildings and the other modern parts. The contrast was beyond my expectations. It was a very wide exposure to appreciate Persia at its finest. Each location had its unique architecture and striking atmosphere.” (Layla, London, September 2022)
“Well planned, places were wisely selected based on tour operator’s previous experience and in view of the time constraints; excellent guide and driver, good standard hotels; a hugely enriching experience!” (Anver, London, September 2022)
