Situated in the Western Balkans, Albania is considered one of the lesser explored parts of Europe. However, despite its unassuming nature the country is blessed with varied landscapes, fascinating history and a rich culinary tradition.
Our tour begins in the capital Tiranë with its vibrant streets and captivating mix of Ottoman, Fascist and Communist era influences. We then visit the ancient towns of Elbasan and Berat, renowned for their architecture and stunning hilltop views, before proceeding further south to Gjirokastër. This World Heritage site is famous for its diverse population, imposing fortress and traditional bazaar. On our way back to Tiranë we stop at Vlorë and Durrës to experience the pristine coastline along the Adriatic Sea.
Those who wish to extend their trip in the region can travel further north to Shkodër, which has served as an important cultural, educational and economic centre for centuries, before crossing into neighbouring Montenegro.
Tour Package
Accommodation with daily breakfast and a traditional dinner one evening with an Albanian family. Experienced tour guide, admission fees and local taxes. Transport will primarily be using an air-conditioned minivan or bus.
